I’ve tried every protien bar out there, and don’t care for most of them. The South Beach bars are different. No, they aren’t a Snickers bar, but they don’t have the taste and consistency of chalk either. Imagine a rice krispy treat, with protien instead of all the sticky sweet. I think they’re great. Rating: 5 / 5

These bars are really good. I was wary at first, since I’m sensitive to maltitol, and its used a lot in these bars… but having no more than one bar a day was fine. Pretty good chocolate flavor (can sometimes get that off-sugar alcohol flavor). Though I really love the soy-crisp top part — even better than a rice krispie treat. I like these bars more than the cinammon+creme ones (which taste quite artificial). Rating: 5 / 5

I’m not on South Beach, but I LOVE these… In fact, I’m doing Weight Watchers, and these bars are about 4 points. What I find is that splitting one in half is a GREAT 2-point snack. Sweet, chewy, chocolaty, filling. I love the fact that it’s got a lot of protein and fiber, and not a lot of sugar or fat. It’s a good alternative to candy bars, which are my weakness… And I agree with the other reviews, most of these types of bars taste terrible, but these are great. Rating: 5 / 5

  4. Many people out there will agree that this is the best TASTING bar out there (I especially love ‘em cold) – but as far as nutrition and well-being are concerned, all I have to say is “DO THE RESEARCH, PEOPLE.” You will not find a bar that packs a better overall punch than this little guy here. 19G of protein rivals (and even beats) many of the chalky, powdery, crap-tastic bars selling for 2-3 times as much. This bar is VERY low on calories as well, and you will be hard-pressed to find a bar with that kind of protein/calorie ratio. And lastly (as if it needs another selling point), for those watching their sugar and carb intake, this bar is an excellent choice with a low net carb value.

I have lost over one hundred pounds in a little over 18 months now, thanks to a very hard work ethic and well-balanced, great-tasting foods like the fine people at Kraft have created here. But don’t trust me, try a few different brands first (remember to read labels) and let the taste of this bar make the decision for you! Rating: 5 / 5

  5. Good nutrition: high in protein and fiber, low in fat. They taste much better than expected, but have a drink handy because they’re dry and chewy. A good snack for anyone, not just those on diets. Rating: 4 / 5
